After the Second Effect, Tokyo-3 is being attacked by large animals called Angels that seek to get rid of mankind. The kid Shinji's objective is to fight the Angels by piloting among the mystical Evangelion mecha units. A remake of the initial 6 episodes of GAINAX's renowned 1996 anime collection. The movie was retitled "Evangelion: 1.01" for its DVD release and "Evangelion: 1.11" for a release with extra scenes.
